"Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"

Part One.

I love you like yesterday.
See, it’s the past that hinders me from loving you my best today.
Because of the lack love
From ex-boys and such,
I’m not so sure I can love you the right way.

But I love you still.

I love you like I’ve been hurt before.
My heart tends to build,
High walls to block you out,
And you knock them down.
But like eternal life,
They’re everlasting.
Outlasting the hold that I feel,
Binds me from loving you completely.
I find me loving you discreetly.
And less in public.

I love you like letting go is beneath me.
I want you to reach out,
But won’t let you reach me.
I want to learn how to love you right,
But refuse to let you teach me.

Like yesterday I gave my all,
And as I recall
I received nothing in return.
These,
Bridges wont burn,
Cuz I keep them open,
Hoping they’ll give me insight into you.

I understand you reap what you sew
But I’ve bitten off more than I can chew.
I guess I better start acting brand new,
And way more into you.
Because if you’re fighting to be with me,
And I’m fighting against you,
That just may be a fight I’ll lose.

Part Two.

I love you like today.
Way more than yesterday,
But still not my best today.
But I do still love you

Though the past still haunts me
And seems a bit daunting.
The harder I try to move on,
The more the past taunts me.

But on I move,
And tell the past, “Do you.”
Cuz I will do me,
And by me,
I mean you.

I mean who could stop the truth
As hard as they pursue
The reality of us today,
Makes the past easier to subdue.

Today.
Yes.
I love the way that sounds.
Today brings the truth out,
That I’m here with you now.

Tomorrow is in the past
And no, today won’t last.
But I live in the moment.
And love harder only
Because I love you still.

Today is here.

Part Three.

I love you like tomorrow.
Like, there’s no tomorrow.
Like,
Today is right now,
And yesterday is gone.
And just in case tomorrow never comes,
I must love you like two days in one.

Call it a two for one special.
Cuz the two of us together
Gotta be something special

I’m in love.
And this is the kind I wear like a glove.
With my heart on my sleeve.
See, tomorrow could leave,
And you would know my love was complete.

I love you with everything I have
And all I have to gain.
You’re the today and tomorrow,
That put yesterday to shame.
And my love still remains.

I love you with every bone in my body.
I love you way more than “to death,”
Cuz that’s loving you hardly.
The way I love you is close to Godly.

….alright, not so much.

But I only mean to say
I’m yours forever.
And who ever invented tomorrow is more than clever.
I anticipate
Tomorrow, when I wake.
And how I’ll turn to the left and see your face.

I love you with an urgency.
Cuz this here,
is an emergency.
And as the next day emerges we
Walk off into the sunset,
Holding hands….
Floating,
into tomorrow.
