A warning label should have been attached to your chest,
You wanted me to see the devil at his best.

I never knew you,
Just your representative,
I was genuine and concrete,
But the plans you made were tentative.

Your rep portrayed the vision you were my man,
The real monster inside had a different plan.

It was all a perception of what you wanted me to see,
And everything you said was just what you wanted me to believe,
All those promises you made were disgustingly empty.

You painted me a beautiful picture with bright colors,
To my surprise you were painting that for others,
The fire you lit for me you knew you would smother,
While I was falling for you, you were searching for another.

Your rep portrayed the vision you were my man,
Replaying the memories of us walking hand in hand,
Me touching your face and submerged in the moment,
Hypnotized by your spell that was the definition of potent.

The sickening truth that I believed you were my baby,
From your perspective I was just a maybe.

I wish I could say you’ll never find another like me,
But you will, and that’s what kills me.
I hope you burn and no one hears you scream,
When your plan backfires on your need to deceive.
