Wife Beating

I am kicking, screaming, pounding within your chest

My screams echo into whispers as I gasp for one more breath

Sinking, falling, drowning within my own wet eyes

Your reflection fading, I am awaiting my demise

I am a beating voice, my hands cannot be heard

I am grabbing, pulling, holding onto your heart with every word

I cannot let you go, though beating, without you I bleed

You are my heart, I am your heart, its eachother we need

My love, my life

Your heart, your wife

I'm not too sure what to say about this well written poem. I just hope and pray, it's not true. I know like husbands, some women can be a real pain, but I could never beat a woman I have been in several relationships, where, they have told me, I don't beat them up like other guys. As though it was just normal.

In England, we have wife's beating up husbands now. Worrying. Take care. Best wishes. Moogie.

No worries. The term "wife beating" is actually a metaphor . It simply refers to the wife as being the heart which is beating. Thank you for your comment and concern. <3

This poem is nicely illustrated through words! And wife beating is not to be condoned, so I'm glad you wrote this because people need to know that stuff ain't coo.

Your really good at misleading the reader and rewarding them with a great twist. I like how clever this write is, the wife being the beating heart of her man.

You've redefined the term "wife beating", which speaks to the high caliber of your writing skills.

This is a heart felt piece. I enjoyed how you shared with us how it actually is when it cokes to domestic abuse. As sad as it is most men and women stay, because even when it is come for them they don't know how to leave. Love is such a powerful thing, but in this case it may be a very dangerous thing to accept simply one way. I think in this case it is best to learn to love tourself first, because clearly he want if beating is taking place.
