'Til The Day You Come Home;

til the day you come home, i lay in our bed
scanning through letters i've already read
searching for hope, so i wont fall apart
in pages & grammar, that have come from your heart
dressed up in sand & the scent of your sweat
the smell of your hair, how can i forget
while tear drops have moistened the pages i hold
3 months have passed by, 9 more to go
i stare at your picture, my eyes swell with tears,
the evening news has become my worst fear
ive lost all emotion & feel numb inside
the love of my life is in harms way tonight
your blanket is comfort, at least for today
lost in our memories, & the things you would say
i lose all control as my cell phone rings
my hearts in my throat, & my lungs have caved in
through delay & static, we finally speak
i tell you i love you with a tear on my cheek
you tell me you miss me, & think of me much
i tell you i cant wait to again feel your touch
our phone call is short, but i know with words few
that the man that i love is loving me too
the sound of your voice is what puts me to bed
as i lay next to letters ive already read
one night closer til im no longer alone
one half becomes whole, the day you come home
