The Medication Proclamation

poetry picture

Could you tell me what is real?
It is either the joy or the pain I feel,
and I am starting to think the darker side
is the true end of the deal.
I am only stable when these pills are able

Happy New Year

poetry picture

My hands are tied.
I cannot tell you how hard I have tried,
trying to unlock the doors of my eyes-
but I cannot fuel your fire
because of how much exhaustion I have acquired.

Shades of Solitude

poetry picture

It is a love/hate relationship
between loneliness and me.
It holds the admiration
while I try to make it see
that I only have animosity
for the bitter solitude it
forces me to feel.

Florida is Too Far

poetry picture

It is going to be hard
without you here.
I am repressed by your
Absence Already
Already Awaiting
for you to come home.
I need you here
but you need help
that I cannot give you.

Psyche

poetry picture

I can feel it in my bones.
Not alone-
his green galaxy being
Thrown
back at my
small frame
All of this knowledge and knowing
bringing me shame
and his eyes are glowing
changing; bursting

My Trees

poetry picture

God’s winds destroyed my trees.
It was an unfair battle
because the trees did nothing
but stand still
and sway.
Now I look at where the corpses lay,
looming lightly after falling hard

Epilepsy

poetry picture

As the car drives by the trees
the sun strobes behind them,
flashing so bright then
casting split-second shadows.
The light and the shade
are having a fight that won’t fade

Just Tired

poetry picture

I am just tired.
No where near wired
like I should be.
I am running on empty.
My eyes fall,
they cannot support
the exhaustion I carry.
These once-stable structures
in my mind

Drink to the Snow

poetry picture

It started beneath the blankets and bedding
when our limbs entangled
like branches that were shedding
leaves that were no longer green.
Your face truly makes the beauty of this scene,
