Cozy

Ragged clouds careen across the hostile sky.

Lightning rips and tears at the blowing flurries,

as the thunder crackles and roars above.

Rain lashes across the land and seas.

The trees whip violently back and forth, limbs snapping.

small creatures burrow deep into the earth,

trying to avoid the deluge of rain

 that pours down from the heavens.

The wail of the wind sounds delicious.

Shivers run down my spine as I watch through my window.

I snuggle back into my comfy reading chair.

A log in the fireplace pops as warmth floods over me.

I smile, I turn a page.
