Bitter winds in the face of adversity.

I feel the bitter cold winds of adversity

Sweep through the lush green prosperous land

I used to know

Only to be gradually eroded away

With each passing day

As austerity bites

And money is tight

The economy in disarray as the rich and greedy  bankers

Lick their lips

After the champagne they sip.

No jobs no exports

No economic security

I see the tall walls of adversity and poverty

Crashing down on me.

As the bitter winds of discontent and and self interest

Sweep through the plush corridors of government

Making a mockery

Of peoples' needs and democracy.

That happens to me time to time, as far as starting off as one thing and ending differently. Art is art and I appreciate you sharing your wordly perspective. Similar stuff is going on in the U.S.  And all we can do is sit back and watch it happen since we can't voice our opinions. 1LoVe

Thank you so much friend. much appreciated. The US like us Brits, hasn't a clue how to get out of this mess. The US is going to see big changes, as is the world. These are the first pangs of distress and chaos. While the rich and powerful, look after themselves, we just get poorer. if they had acted earlier, and stopped the greedy bankers, provided jobs and exports we'd have growth that we desperately need now. Thank you so much. Take good care. Moogie.

It's the same here moogie.  My theory is that we should take all the politicians out and shoot them, then start over.  Unfortunately it's not a feasable theory.  :(  Hang in there though.

Thank you Ann, they need something, but I beg to differ on the shooting bit, there's too much of that about. Thank you take care. Moogie.

Some great lines there. I feel you moogster and it's sad and crazy that we live in this kind of world, but God is always there for us.
