Vanishing In My Dreams

September 15, 2010
From shadowy realm, release me
The asylum holding my irrational thoughts
Cold damp and dark
The sane pacing the floor, undetected
Threats thrown out of proportion
The monster seems larger, undefeated
He's broken his cage
Explosions bring flaming death
Frightening thoughts catch fire, burn
Holding her saber high above
I leap forward speeding with her in my arms
A calm settles like the first winter snow
Wrapping around me, her spirits radiant warmth
Soothing siren, walk with me
Across the unconquered tundra
Winds in rest, purple dusk above
Stars dart back and forth in excitement
Life finally within my palms
My euphoric state, screaming louder
Expressing its enthusiasm
Forever stuck in my disappearance
My home humble, within my comfort
Cool breeze carries me back to the starting line
Stuttering and cursing unforgiving truth

There is some great imagery

There is some great imagery in this poem...

Explosions bring flaming death
Frightening thoughts catch fire, burn
Holding her saber high above
I leap forward speeding with her in my arms
A calm settles like the first winter snow

There's strength in your words. Good stuff
