restless time
Time it passes so slowly when you’re caught in a cycle
Of endless abuse.
Spending never saving, but what’s the use?
An economic slave to modern times? Strapped to a burden
That never becomes
Dancing Under sodium lamps to the sounds of radiophonic drums.
Drinking to drown the noise of our internal voice.
The voice that should be singing from our poisoned filled lungs.
As Two lovers entwine on the council house estate
Victims or heroes of a time that came too late.
And the rain never rain’s it floods and pours,
Washing away the sins from our acid drenched shores.
Washing away the blood from government’s sores.
As Afghan dope fuels a market economy forevermore.
We swallow the pills to hide the truth , the truth we shun
For a life without proof.
