I saw a shadow in the day light today
How can that be?
Can’t move too fast, she’ll run quickly
Can’t speak too loudly, you will scare her
She might leave

I bend, she bends with me
She’s playing games, you see
Maybe some hide n seek,
PS…I hate this game, people vanish into thin air

Come and find me… she whispers gently in my ear
As I giggle, she softly giggles too
What’s your name Shadow girl; I ask?

She disappeared… “not again, another friend disappears”
Hmm… wondering where she ran off to?
Frantically I’m searching, not behind the couch
Is she under the bed? Might it all be, just in my head?

All along… she was standing right behind me
Scared the day lights out of me!
She softly whispers… peek a boo...I see you!

I won’t leave you like all the others, she mutters
They don’t know you like I do...
I am your friend, I am you!
