Mother Nature

Have you ever noticed just how trifling nature is
She's a criminal: a temptress, a thief, and a con
she draws you in with her seductive ways
her luscious green grass and her shining sun
In the spring and summer she is nice
una buena actriz if you will
she smiles at you and flips her hair in the nice gentle breeze
her eyes shine bright, the sun in all its glory
but in the winter she turns icy and cold
she walks by you without a backward glance, and whips you with cold blistering winds
She watches you through the trees
whispers menacingly in the wind
and dangles dangerously above you with icicles
She is precariously balanced in the world
upset her balance and you invoke her ferocious wrath
she unleashes the wind, the hurricanes,
tornadoes, volcanoes and earthquakes
She gives new meaning to the phrase
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned
She laughs at you mercilessly
and takes pride in watching you struggle
But then spring comes around and she comes back
Searching for a victim once more.
