It's a word that our hearts thrive on,
and a thought so difficult to grasp
that people like me might spend their lives
trying to figure it out.

Who holds the key
to my forever open door?
Who can finally lock up
the thoughts and words,
hopes and dreams,
that flow steadily through me,
clouding my mind.

Are you willing to be
my forever key,
willing to hold dear to you,
everything I wish to become?

Of course you aren't.
You would never want
to mean so much to someone,
especially someone like me.
Someone so crazy, so different,
someone who tries so hard to fit in.

I long to unlock the door,
the door separating you from the world,
