Last Road Home

PrintPrint

An explosion went off on the road ahead

My men started screaming and my heart sank low

A couple of their lives hanging by a thread

So I gave the command for everyone to go

And as my men moved into cover

While bullets wizzed by like jets in the sky

Support helicopters came in and started to hover

Causing the wind to blow dust into my eyes

When we closed in on the enemies position

I let the tanks load up and fire

I felt pretty confident with my proposition

If you shoot us up we'll blow you higher

As their surpprise attack upon American troops

Started to close and came to an end

I ordered them to clear buildings without any flooks

We got a perimeter for us to defend

So the helicopters can take us home once again...

Behind The Poem:

Just a poem we had to write for an art project...
