Still an Infant

PrintPrint

It took me so long to realize I was different
21 years, and I'm still an infant
Been trying to find my place
Trying to appreciate my race
Lines of worry, lines of fury- the lines are blurry
They tell a story of a woman's lost glory
MAC makeup covers the pain like curry
Insecure because I'm not light
That my ass ain't big, and my pants don't fit tight
But now I'm cool with myself
I've schooled myself
I've grown to love myself
Chocolate is good for your health.
You can take what you want from me, because there ain't nothing left
Give me those dollar bills and I'll give you my two cents.

That's right, you have to

That's right, you have to love and appreciate yourself. I'm glad you came to that conclusion cuz there are too many girls out here walking with their head down low, they can't identify themselves. Having and knowing yourself that is a blessing and that is something I realized at an early age. Great job!

Benison,
Mckenzie.
