Long Broken
This government is long broken,
a mere shadow of days past !
When the values of all men,
and true liberty were first cast !
When the principles and core values,
of the foundation, were first laid !
When the promises of equality,
for all men, were first made !
And when did this government,
put these Ideals on the shelf ?
In exchange for this new way,
of every man for himself ?
A government by the people,
for the people is untrue !
This motto should now read,
do as I say, not as I do !
A government by the government,
for the people, they've deemed fools !
As they have seperated themselves,
from society's golden rules !
And shame on the people,
who have slept through it all !
Despite the words of our forefathers,
once etched on the walls !
This government is long broken,
and this poem is so true !
And if you just cannot see this,
than you're broken too !

Behind The Poem:
American politics. The founders of this government are surely rolling in their graves. As todays politicians, ( and it goes way way back ) have made a mockery of the ideals and morals they put forh in creating a true democracy !
