I remember life and the peace of me being an innocent.
You were there for all of my tears and smiles.
One change may change everything,
But sometimes it can change one life decision for many.
Ever since you left, prayers have been my heart's beat.
Merely because I want to see you, your face.

If a time machine could seize to exist,
Then I would hear your laugh again.
I remember when I would visit you as a child and how I giggled at the sound of you snoring,
I often would whisper secrets that nobody could understand.
I remember you shuffling cards and you would let me win.
I smiled at the sight of a dollar bill in your hand; one for my brother and one for me.

Remember how I would always play the piano as harshly as possible?
Me singing along with it was like a little angel humming your favorite song.
But life can be cruel, or the simplest thing in the world.
And I still miss you, love you, and I forever need you.
I remember you, though I was too young.
And when I dream at night, I mostly see you.

Those dreams are realizing that life is short.
Sometimes that can be a regret of not enjoying our deep, silent breathes.
But your heart beat its last beat,
And tears flooded our minds.
You dying created their deaths.
Some may even say that their minds were erased.
But I still live; I still remember.
