I miss you Grandma

PrintPrint

Under the Willow tree,

Is where we buried thee.

I keep asking the question "WHY?!"

As a single tears falls from my eye.

You made me feel so happy and safe

It matters not a persons faith

I feel so lonely without you dear

Come back home and hold me near

Without you all I feel is pain

As i'm taking walks thru the pouring rain

Feeling so cold down to the bone

Wishing you would come take me home.

Your in a better place i know,

Not a world full of snow.

I miss you oh so much

And the feeling of your touch.

Now your second journey has begun

Please make sure to have some fun

I'll see you again some day

Until then to you I Pray.

Behind The Poem:

This year my grandma (Arlene) on my mom's side passed away on Wednesday February 15th. Two days prior to that i found out she was in the ICU part of the hospital fighting meningitis. I called my  grandma (pat) on my dad's side and she drove from the hospital and took me to see her. Word cannot describe the way i felt when i went and stood by her side. My cousin Ryan and I had my Grandma Pat take us to get something to eat. When we got back, my uncle buddy (Ryan's dad) told us that grandma lene was awake and that if we wanted to see her we could. I put down everything i was carrying and all but ran to my grandma's room. Indeed she was awake. She was having a hard time keeping her eyes open.... but when i said "Grandma, can u hear me?" Her eyes snapped open and it looked like she was ready to cry. She was asking for some ice or water, something to help take the dryness and thirst away... but she had to use swabs.... I'll never forget that face she made. Her expression said "What the hell is this?" and she caused both Ryan and I to laugh. i didn't leave the hospital until 4 in the morning on Valentines Day. I spent all Valentines Day in either the ICU waiting room, or by my grandma's side hoping she'd respond to someone. I went home that night...... and at 7:30 Wednesday morning..... my mom calls me and has to tell me Grandma passed away.

The only thing i have to say....... Is cherish your loved ones, especially the elderly.... for one day they to.... might disappear
