I run, I run as fast as I can.
The adrenaline seems to be saving me for now.
I see no light.
I am in a tunnel, a very dark tunnel.
I whisper, “Help me,”
In my softest tone.

Running with nowhere to go.
I scream, but no one can hear me.
It's coming for me.
I see it,
But I don't know what it is.
I need help.

Still running faster as faster.
It is a shadow,
An evil shadow.
I trip
And back away, still down.
I can't get up.

It grabs a hold of me.
It is pointless to ask for help.
I scream in terror.
The shadow hold mes up where we look face to face.
It doesn't talk.
I wake up.
Help came.
It was just a dream.

Behind The Poem:

About thinking about your worst nightmares. I never had a nightmare like this, but I might some day.
