"True Colors"

Sweet scent of flowers linger
Long stem roses, a few carnations, and one lonely daisy
Mourning deeply, will the sorrow ever fade
Remembering each moment shared

No more sparkle upon your eyes
Your smile left on pictures, we glare
The memories of a life, the mourning of your death
God has chosen you to stand by his side

In this dark time, losing your faith
There are reasons why he has opened his gates
Unknown reasons why, we still cry
Shedding tears, as the pastor recalls your years

Trembling with such loss, can’t seem to catch a breath
Death becomes us, over taking the memories we should be sharing
Laughter faintly heard, only children who can now giggle

A casket made for royalty
All the flowers that surround you
A plot you planned
A gathering of all your loved ones
A god whom awaits you
An eternity without you
Life now, we're afraid of living

At that very moment, something happens
Heads bowed, and praying
Rain droplets falling, the sun still shining
A rainbow forms, and somehow we all knew
God has welcomed you
All though you will be missed, your presence will always
Exist when a rainbow appears
All the binding colors represent you

No more dark clouds
No more tears
No more mourning

Your true colors are shining through the Earth's atmosphere
I will keep my head up to the sky and wait
Until the next rain, awaiting the rainbow
I'll know your there, looking down, watching over me
