Gift of Freedom

So now you are reliving your adolesence
this time with a purpose biting at your heels
God let me live through it
to tell the story of my generation
my life splattered with experience
weary for a while but reborn
with a taste of joy and fear of the Lord
a real sence of jubulent freedom
dancing in the light of love
heating up my life that is free from lies
truth is the uphill struggle of love
you think that love flows like a river
but it comes on you like a hurricane
the winds of time spent
in learning what life is really about
the turning of time
that leaves lines on your face and heart
for I have had experiences
that have frightened me to the point
of turning away from peace and love as just a slogan
I must save you and me from
terrorism and enslavement
to walk down the street freely smiling and loving
dancing in the wind
for I have left sin behind me
like so much garbage
for sin is nothing more than doubt
confusion that clutters up your heart
desirering all that life has to offer
choosing to be positively you
and positively me
the rest of our lives to go free
with patience and the beauty of loving
to give to life that which was given to us
freedom.
