Advice on how to get your stuff out there!!

I have always wanted to get my work out to the world(other then this site) but I just dont know where to start. I'm really shy about it, even though its a passion of mine. So, if you could give me advice, suggestions or otherwise ,it would be greatly appreciated!!!
